Extol His Name

Glorify the Lord with me, let us together extol his name. (Psalm 34:4)

Extol is a verb that means to praise enthusiastically. It is synonimous to the words acclaim, exalt, glorify, eulogize, adulate, rhapsodize over, rave about, enthuse about/over, overpraise. It originated in 1350-1400 as a Middle English word extollen, taken from the Latin word "extollere" that means to lift up or raise up. Equivalent to ex- ex-1+ tollere to lift, raise up .

In this day and age, the most popular phrase depicting this verse is to "Get High with God!".

Drug abuse and addiction have become a problem most especially among the youth. The sensation of "getting high" on drugs makes then addicted to it. This gave rise to the said popular phrase "Get High with God and not with drugs".

Truly, when you praise and worship the Lord, extolling His Name in spirit and in truth, your soul is lifted up on high, and you begin to feel a more profound and inner sensation of being in the presence of the Lord. Why settle for less?
